The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Russia's oil pipeline monopoly Transneft have
agreed the amount of
oil to be pumped through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in 2017, Baku-based Trend news agency reported Monday with reference to a source in the company.
In 2017, SOCAR plans to export up to 1.5 mln
tonnes of crude oil through Russia versus 1.3 mln
tonnes last year, the agency said.
"In 2017, it is planned to increase the volume of pumping (via Baku-Novorossiysk) to 1.5 mln
tonnes of oil, 325,000
tonnes of which are planned to be pumped in the first quarter of 2017," the source said.
Transneft's official representative Igor Demin confirmed to TASS the information about those agreements. "We're aware of those plans. We've coordinated them with our technical capacity," he said.
