French President Francois Hollande has invited the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents to meet in Paris, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.
"We have received an invitation and now are waiting for specifics," Mammadyarov told reporters today in Baku.
Armenia captured nearly one-fifth of Azerbaijan's internationally-recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts, in a war in early 1990s.
Large-scale hostilities ended with a ceasefire in 1994 but no peace agreement has been signed despite talks mediated by Russia, the US and France.
Azerbaijan has said it reserves the right to use military force to regain control of its territory should peace talks fail.
