Azerbaijan's major opposition newspaper Azadliq has dismissed the criticism of Western financial institutions by the head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev.
According to the report, the Azerbaijani government itself did so much damage to the national economy that there is no need to fear anything from organisations like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The report also said that since the leading official newspapers published Mehdiyev's article, it cannot be taken as a sign of a contradiction within the government.
