Altay Goyushov, a professor of history at Baku State University, says he is coming under pressure to resign because of his Facebook postings criticizing the government.“The university management told me to write a letter of resignation because of Facebook,” Goyushov wrote on the social networking website. “Then I was forced to leave in the middle of a class.”Abel Maharramov, rector of the university, which is Azerbaijan’s oldest, said the “pro-American” professor should be fired because “he doesn’t attend classes”.“But no decision has yet been made on him,” he said, according to Lent.az.
