Azerbaijan’s postal operator Azerpost Ltd. will soon put into operation the first payment terminal e-GovPay with a currency exchange function, the company told Trend on December 12.
The terminal will be commissioned after the official opening of the first "single window” centre of Azerpost. The opening ceremony of the center will be held in the coming days, according to AzerNews.
It will be possible to pay through the terminal for utility and communication services, Internet, etc. The main advantage of the new terminals will be the functions of accepting coins and giving change.
Azerpost plans to set such terminals in the company’s new centers which will open shortly in the Yasamal and Khatai postal branch. It is planned to put into operation five similar centres in cities of Baku and in Sumgait until the end of the first half of 2017.
In future, the postal operator plans to open up to ten centers in the regions of Azerbaijan, including in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
In addition to financial transactions, it will be possible to apply for connection to fixed telephony, to buy tickets, or to access other services.
Azerpost, the national post operator, was established in 1999 and received the status of national postal operator in 2004. The company mostly implements such important functions like offering quality and affordable postal, postal-financial and other services to support daily activities of the population.
