Azqtel president attends Mobile World Congress in Shanghai

Mobile World Congress, one of the largest mobile industry events in Asia, has been held in Shanghai.

Leading Asian and international manufacturers and operators showcased their latest achievements in the fields of technology, equipment and communication services at the congress and exhibition, formerly known as Mobile Asia Expo.

Along with the exhibition, conferences and seminars were held with the participation of managers and senior executives from leading companies of Asia and Europe. 

One of the conferences was the GTI Summit, which was organized by the Association of China Mobile and Global TD-LTE Initiative. Being an open global platform for exchange of ideas and expertise, GTI brought together operators from around the world in the field of the fourth generation wireless communications technology.

In his opening speech, Mr. Zhang Bing, deputy minister of industry and information technology of China, highlighted the special role of GTI in the development and dissemination of TDD LTE technology.

The chairman of board of China Mobile, which owns the largest network of TDD LTE, spoke about the progress of high-speed data transmission network and the arrival of a new era called "Internet Plus". 

Jeyhun Mollazade, President of the Baku-based company Azqtel, attended the summit at the invitation of the organizers. 

Azqtel, which operates under the brand of SAZZ, is the largest provider of 4G Internet in Azerbaijan.

Speaking on the topic of "New opportunities for operators in emerging markets", Mr. Mollazade said that the successful development of Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industries gave an impetus to other sectors of the economy, particularly communications and high technologies.

He said that Azerbaijan is the leading country in the region for the number of users of broadband internet. 

The panel moderated by Mr. Matsumoto, chief adviser of SoftBank and a member of board of GTI, also discussed the benefits of TDD LTE technologies and the development of successful business models in the face of competition.
