Baku hosts business forum of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and Caspian European Club

Discussed at the joint business forum, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Caspian European Club, and held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Idris Isayev in Baku on October 21,  were introduction of electronic information system (EIS) of registration of labor contracts, the work that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population carries out in the field of social policy, improvement of welfare of the population as well as labor protection and use of labor reserves.

 Addressing the business forum, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Idris Isayev thanked the Caspian European Club for arranging the business-to-government dialogue. He emphasized the importance of conduction of such meetings within the framework of the Caspian European Club and noted that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan is one of the most transparent state institutions.Speaking at the event, Idris Isayev noted that the functioning system of social protection of population is one of the indicators characterizing development of the country. Minimum social security of the population is one of the aspects of it.A broad range of activities including state programs was implemented in the field of social protection of the population over the past 10 years. Considerable success was gained as the result of all these activities. In particular, expenditures on social welfare and social security grew by 8 times. In the meantime, personal income grew by 6.5 times. The salary grew by 5.7 times. The minimum wage grew by 15.7 times. The poverty income fell from 49% down to 5.3%. All these indicators are directly associated with the provision employment of the population. In this regard, noteworthy is 1 mln 300 thou permanent working places that have been lately opened by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. As the result, the rate of unemployment fell down to 5%. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Idris Isayev provided detailed information about introduced electronic information system of registration of labor contracts, drawing attention to the advantages of this system which he called unique. These measures are aimed at development of mechanisms of state control over registration of labor contracts. On the other hand, electronic registration of labor contracts within EIS will create conditions for protecting the rights of workers.Idris Isayev also spoke about ICT’s role in development of the economy of the country and noted that 5% of the global GDP falls to the share of this sector. He added that this indicator would grow approx twice as much by 2020.Idris Isayev answered questions of member companies of the Caspian European Club, discussed problems that they face. Addressing the business forum, Telman Aliyev, Chief Executive Officer of the Caspian European Club, thanked Idris Isayev for the constructive dialogue and attention to proposals and requests made by the Caspian European Club members during the event.Telman Aliyev spoke about the forth-coming II International Caspian Energy Forum – 2014 due in Tbilisi in November. According to him, the program of the conference has a one day agenda and consists of two parts. The first part will cover the development of the oil-gas, energy and environmental sectors. The Caspian European Forum dedicated to the development of the non-oil sector will be held within the framework of the second part of the Forum. He noted that Caspian European Club was established in June 2002 in association with Caspian Energy International Media Group and under intensive support of the largest oil&gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been a chairman of Caspian European Club. According to T.Aliyev, Caspian European Club has promoted attraction of oil sector revenues into development of the non-oil sector since its establishment. Caspian European Club is operating in 50 countries around the world, carrying out an active work on maintenance of the dialogue between government agencies and the private sector.Participating in the meeting of the Caspian European Club were executives of companies and representatives of a number of diplomatic agencies accredited in Azerbaijan, particularly ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Moldova, Netherlands, Greece and other countries.Bakudaily.Az
