The mysterious vessel washed ashore the coast of Ocean Shores Monday, Charles Wallace, deputy director of Grays Harbor County Emergency Management, told the Daily News.The small boat was covered with a large amount of vegetation greens and other sea life, and authorities said it may have been washed away during the 2011 tsunami.“There are some markings however it is difficult to determine if they are letters or not,” he said.The Washington State Department of Ecology will sample the vegetation and attempt to determine if it came from the waters surrounding Japan, Wallace said.The process will take about a week, he said.Officials will also attempt to contact the Japanese Consulate in Seattle to assist in identifying the boat, which, based on pictures, has been in the water for a very long time, reports TV station Q13 Fox..Other boats from the tsunami have also washed onto the Washington coast, the station reported.(nydailynews.co)ANN.Az
