Backed by a military unit of Soviet troops deployed in the regional center Khankendi, Armenian armed forces carried out an ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijani civilians in Khojaly town. All media representatives from around the world who were there as well as information agencies aware of the event called the tragedy ‘massacre’. The Azerbaijani people met the happenings with deep sorrow, burying the victims in an honorable manner, doing all they can to rehabilitate the survivors of this relentless massacre.
