EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has called the attack on a hospital in Gaza a horrific crime and called for bringing those responsible to justice.

"The news coming from the Al-Ahli Arabi Baptist hospital in Gaza add horror to the tragedy unfolding before our eyes since days. Once again, innocent civilians pay the highest price. The responsibility for this crime must be clearly established & the perpetrators held accountable,” he wrote on X.

In turn, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, said at a press conference that strikes on civilian infrastructure do not comply with humanitarian standards.
