BP announced the appointment of Tony Hunt as vice presidentfor offshore operations for Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey (AGT) region. Hunt willassume his new role on Dec. 15 and will be accountable for safe, compliant andreliable operations in the region, the company said.
This follows the appointment of Mark Thomas, AGT region’scurrent vice president for offshore operations, as vice president technical functionsbased in Houston. Thomas will move to his new position on Dec. 15.

Mark has been a big driving force inleading our regional offshore operations performance to international standardsand in line with BP requirements. Tony Hunt has a first degree in Mathematics fromLeicester University and a Master’s degree in Offshore Engineering from RobertGordon University in Aberdeen. Throughout his 29 year career with BP, he hasheld a wide range of operations roles, including operations leadership roles inthe UK, onshore and offshore, and Angola. Tony joins Azerbaijan from hiscurrent position as the Subsea Operations Manager in Luanda.
