The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline exported 4.618 million tons of Azerbaijani crude in the first two months of the year, down 5.9% from a year earlier, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) said on its website.
The pipeline carried 2.214 million tons of Azerbaijani crude in February. Azerbaijan has used the pipeline to export a total of 239.934 million tons of oil abroad since the pipeline went into service on June 4, 2006.
Azerbaijan also exported 450,712 tons of oil from Turkmenistan and 489,486 tons from Kazakhstan via the BTC pipeline in February.
Partners in the 1,768-km pipeline incude BP (with a 30.1%), SOCAR (25%), Chevron (8.9%), Statoil (8.71%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5%), Itochu (3.4%), ConocoPhillips (2.5%), INPEX (2.5%), Total (5%), and ONGC Videsh Limited (2.36%).
