BP plans to shut down the West Azeri platform in the Caspian Sea for maintenance at the end of May, the company said.
The planned maintenance will take three weeks.
West Azeri is part of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields. It produced on average 149,000 barrels of oil a day last year.
ACG is Azerbaijan’s largest oil deposit with six platforms. It provides nearly 80 percent of the total crude output.
BP leads the project with a 35.8 percent stake. Its partners include Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR, Statoil, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, TPAO, Itochu and ONGC Videsh.
