The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) consortium will begin laying pipes for the project in 2016 and the pipeline will be on stream in "a couple of years”, BP CEO Bob Dudley told state-run Athens News Agency in Davos.
Dudley said TAP has signed agreements with Greek companies on construction and purchase of pipes.
The BP CEO commented after meeting Greek Minister of State Nikos Pappas.
The 878km-long pipeline will link up with TANAP pipeline at the Greek-Turkish border and will deliver Azeri natural gas to Italy via Greece and Albania.
