BP today hosted a career forum for Azerbaijani national overseas students and graduates specialising in the oil and gas industry related disciplines. The event is part of BP’s and its co-venturers’ commitment to supporting the country’s efforts in developing highly-skilled national oil and gas professionals.
The Career Forum is part of BP’s Graduate and Intern Recruitment Programme for this region. It aims at promoting job opportunities within petro-technical disciplines, developing relationships and attracting national talents from overseas universities.
The event, which was arranged in collaboration with the Azerbaijan-UK Alumni Association (AUKAA), attracted 120 overseas Azerbaijani students and graduates. It presented a scene for interactive discussions of career opportunities within BP and for networking with BP leadership representatives.
The participants included students and graduates from the universities of the UK and other European Union countries, as well as those from the higher educational universities of North America. These are young Azerbaijani nationals who are planning to build their future careers in the oil and gas industry of the country.
Leyla Novruzova, BP’s Vice President, Human Resources, said: “We see this forum as a learning and networking opportunity for overseas students. They will be able to meet BP’s senior representatives to discuss existing and future career development opportunities, recruitment programmes and plans.
They will also have a chance to learn more about our 20 year safe and reliable offshore and onshore operations in Azerbaijan and the region. We believe our efforts aimed at promoting career opportunities in Azerbaijan’s world-class oil and gas industry are well in line with the government’s strategy to encourage young Azerbaijanis studying abroad to use their international knowledge and skills to contribute to their country’s economic development”.
