Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the return of five occupied regions to Azerbaijan is on the agenda.
"Russia shared this idea with us, and we supported it," Cavusoglu said in Strasbourg answering MP Ganira Pashayeva's question at PACE session, "We have made huge efforts to resolve the Karabakh conflict. We have also done much to normalize relations with Armenia. We even signed an agreement in Switzerland, which, however, produced no result.
"Today the Minsk Group co-chairs and Russia have made several constructive proposals. The agenda includes the return of at least five occupied regions to Azerbaijan. Russia shared this proposal, and Turkey supported it, and discussed this with the Azerbaijani side.
"If such steps are taken, we will support any decision of Azerbaijan. We want to normalize relations with Armenia.
"If this problem is resolved, we suppose that Azerbaijan will want it too. Why should the South Caucasus face such a threat, such a problem? Why is it not being settled? The Minsk Group must also make every effort."
