Party for Democratic Reforms has revealed its position on referendum

Party for Democratic Reforms discussed the results of referendum on constitutional amendments held on September 26, 2016 İN Azerbaijan.

PDR in general observed the election process. Party’s observers monitored voting prosess in most District Electoral Commissions and polling stations across the country.The representatives of the Party have also got well

According to the results of these observations Political Council of the Party declares that there was a  voter turnout on the day of referendum accross the country. Apart from some technical shortcomings and minor illegalities in a number of voting stations, serious violations have not been recorded by the Party.

Since the recorded shortcomings took place in very few polling stations they were incapable to affect the results of referendum.

We state that the referendum was held trasnparant  in line with the country's legislation, there were created opportunities for all representatives of social-political organizations to freely observe it and as a whole the results of referendum represent the will of the people.

We hope that the results of referendum will contribute to the improvement of state management in the Republic of Azerbaijan, large-scale and comprehensive democratic reforms in the country, protection of human rights in a reliable manner, strengthening of juridical statehood and development of civil society in general.
