President Aliyev: "We will create an example of paradise on earth in Karabakh and Zangazur"

"Even well-known non-governmental organizations and international foundations turn a blind eye to what is happening in Karabakh and Zangazur," President Ilham Aliyev said while receiving the UN Resident Coordinator Maimunah Mohd Sharif on March 5.

"There are now significant challenges ahead of us. I am sure that you have been informed about our plans. You may have seen a significant part of our recovery process. This is good work. We have not received a single dollar of international assistance from international organizations or any other country in the world so far. We do all the work at our own expense. We will continue to do so. But, of course, it is strange that almost a year and a half has passed since the liberation of the lands, no one is ready to help us.

"Only words, nothing else. There are neither donor conference ideas nor financial support. Even well-known non-governmental organizations and international foundations turn a blind eye to what is happening in Karabakh and Zangazur. This is regrettable. You know, we will restore the territories, as I said in Karabakh and Zangazur, we will create an example of paradise on earth. We will do it at any cost. However, I think that this indifference of international organizations, donor organizations, large foundations is unacceptable. We hope that the UN will support us through its institutions and communication channels and convey the important message that Azerbaijan needs support. We consider your visit a sign of this support. I am sure you will report on what you saw there. Because hearing, knowing, reading is different from coming and seeing with your own eyes," the head of state said.
