A journalist working for Russian media outlet Ruptly has been detained in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, Russian state media reported on Monday.

RIA Novosti identified the detainee as Aytekin Guseynova, a dual citizen of Azerbaijan and Russia. She was reportedly in the country on a private visit and was filming near the location where employees of Sputnik Azerbaijan had previously been detained.

According to Ruptly, Guseynova was acting in coordination with her editorial team.

Russian media cited her mother as confirming she is currently in police custody.
