Azerbaijani woman detained at Tbilisi airport
An Azerbaijani citizen born in 1988 has been detained in Georgia on charges of illegally acquiring, possessing and importing a large quantity of narcotic and psychotropic substances, the Georgian Interior Ministry said.
Police officers at Tbilisi International Airport inspected the woman’s hand luggage and seized tablets containing narcotic and psychotropic substances as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing. Under Georgian law, the offence carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
