Azerbaijan Prosecutor General’s Office warns citizens not to share personal data with strangers
Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office has issued a warning after uncovering cases in which hundreds of citizens had fake business entities registered in their names without their knowledge.
According to the statement, the fraudulent entities were used in schemes that caused substantial financial damage to the state budget.
“Individuals involved in such illegal schemes, as well as officials who facilitate them, bear criminal responsibility. Citizens are urged not to disclose their personal identification data to unknown persons and to immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
