Winner and runner-up from the 128-player knockout with a $1.6m prize fund will qualify for the Candidates tournament 

The FIDE World Cup is under way at Baku, Azerbaijan, and runs until October 4.

The winner and runner-up from the 128-player knockout will qualify for the Candidates tournament.

The prize fund is $1.6 million (£1.05m) with $120,000 going to the winner.

Vladimir Kramnik won the 2013 World Cup at Tromsø, Norway, defeating fellow Russian Dmitry Andreikin 21⁄2-11⁄2 in the final.
