Conscripts who leave Ukraine and do not return may have their privileges, including citizenship, restricted, Mykyta Poturaiev, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, told to the press.

According to him, the situation in the country regarding this category of the population is very complicated: "The situation regarding Ukrainian citizens living abroad who are of military service age is difficult. The majority of Ukrainians believe that justice should be restored by imposing any restrictions on people who have left the country illegally using forged documents or medical certificates. Officials of some European countries have declared that they can help these Ukrainian citizens return to their countries. Of course, European countries provide serious assistance to Ukraine."

The chairman of the committee noted that the main goal of the Ukrainian state is not to return the citizens who moved to foreign countries illegally: "First of all, we need to determine where and in which countries the citizens of Ukraine live. For example, in which countries are citizens of military service age currently living? That is, we must understand our potential in terms of mobilization. If citizens who left Ukraine illegally return during this process, it can certainly be considered a positive thing. If they do not return, there will be nothing tragic about it. In fact, it is not difficult to return them, both financially and technically. But, in my opinion, it is not necessary. In this situation, the state of Ukraine is not indebted to them."
