Visa departments of the German consulates general in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk will stop accepting visa applications on May 31, and processing of documents will be carried out only at the German Embassy in Moscow, reported from Russian media.

"Regardless of the region, all visa applications will only be processed at the German Embassy in Moscow. The visa departments of the Consulates General in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk close the acceptance of applications on May 31, 2023. The VisaMetric Visa Application Centers located in the above cities will continue to operate, however, due to the postal transfer of documents from region to region, it will be necessary to take into account longer processing times for applications,” the embassy said.

Starting June 1, making an appointment for submitting documents will also change - it will not be possible to make an appointment directly at the visa department or at the VisaMetric visa center, applicants will have to put themselves on the waiting list through the embassy booking system, after which the embassy will make an appointment "in chronological order".
