Forty-nine citizens of Spain died in a plane crash of Airbus A3210 in the south of France, said the representatives of a specially created crisis committee at the government of Spain, RIA Novosti news agency reported March 25.
Earlier, the head of Germanwings, which owned the plane, said the crash killed 35 Spanish citizens.
At a specially convened press conference, the Spanish government representatives confirmed the fact that 49 Spanish citizens were on board the plane that crashed March 24.
The Airbus A320 of the Germanwings budget airline, flying from Spain’s Barcelona to Germany’s Düsseldorf, crashed March 24 in a remote region of the French Alps in the southeast of France.
The crash, according to the latest figures, killed 150 people. Citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany, Spain, Britain, the Netherlands, Colombia, Mexico, Denmark, Belgium, Israel, Australia, Iran, Venezuela and the United States were among the passengers, according to official data.
