Deputy Minister: Ukraine liberated 7 square meters in Bakhmut

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have liberated 7 square kilometers in Bakhmut, the Russian army is advancing near Kupiansk, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Hannah Maliar, said. 

According to her, the attack in the direction of Bakhmut continues: "We advanced every day on the southern flank around Bakhmut last week. As a result of the improvement of the tactical operational situation, 7 square kilometers of territory were liberated," the Deputy Minister of Defense emphasized.

She added that the area liberated during the attack in this direction is 31 square kilometers: "Since the end of last week, the enemy has been actively advancing in the direction of Kupiansk, Kharkiv region. Our troops are resisting strongly. The situation is difficult. Now fierce battles continue."

According to her, the Russian army has two tasks: "To return the lost positions and force us to transfer the resources to other directions.”
