A 24-year-old woman who set herself alight in Baku last week after getting dumped by her boyfriend has died in hospital today, police said.

Malaka Bayramli, a resident of the southern Lankaran District, was in a relationship with Ali Habibli, a serviceman at the Ministry of National Security Guard, for a year between October 2012 and October 2013.

Bayramli burned herself after Habibli refused to marry her and they separated.

The man has been detained by police.
