Egypt and the UN have reached an agreement on the temporary entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom checkpoint on the border with Israel until the Rafah land crossing resumes operation, according to the Al-Qahira al-Ikhbariya TV channel, reported from TASS.

The Egyptian authorities agreed with the UN on the entry of 2,272 trucks with humanitarian supplies into Gaza over the past three weeks. At the same time, Cairo stressed that the delivery of aid through Kerem Shalom is only a temporary measure and that Egypt will not reopen the Rafah checkpoint as long as the Israeli military is on the Palestinian side.
