ran, Azerbaijan to launch joint website to boost e-commerce

Iran and Azerbaijan are planning to launch a joint website for introducing and shopping
commodities online, Iran's minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi, announced here on Monday.
Vaezi made the remarks in a meeting with Ramin Guluzadeh, the visiting minister of Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic, official IRNA news agency reported.
The website, if launched, will allow easy purchase for customers in both countries, and facilitate mutual e-trade, he said.
Vaezi also said that the commodity vendors in Iran will send and receive commodities through the Iranian post system, the PostBank and Payam Airport, adding that a committee will be established to follow up related issues.
Cooperation between two countries in the field of communications and information technology, particularly in the postal and e-trade areas, is on the rise, the Iranian minister said.
Tehran is to benefit from Baku's experiences in the field of satellite technology and Baku is to use Tehran's achievements in the field of information technology, he added.
Vaezi urged Iranian companies to participate in the Bakutel exhibition, a telecommunication and IT exhibition due in December in Azerbaijan to study possible cooperation opportunities.
