Azerbaijan eyes Israeli satellite tech to boost digital capabilities

Azerbaijan is exploring opportunities in Israeli satellite technology as part of its efforts to expand national communication systems, an official from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Space Technology Conference in Baku, IAI representative Niko Adamsky introduced the Mini Communication Satellite (MCS) project, describing it as a lightweight, fully digital, and adaptable platform with 15-year orbital durability.
Adamsky said Azerbaijan's interest in flexible and cost-effective satellite models like MCS could enhance its sovereign communications and reach remote regions through projects like Azerspace.
He added that adopting such systems would also support local training and move Azerbaijan toward greater digital independence.
