MP proposes exemption from certification exams for near-retirement doctors

Azerbaijani MP Goydeniz Gahramanov has proposed exempting doctors who are close to retirement age from mandatory certification exams.
“Given that the retirement age is 65, it would be reasonable to exempt doctors aged 63 and 64 from certification. After passing the exam, they can only work for one more year before being dismissed. The exams should be voluntary for them,” Gahramanov said.
He also suggested that doctors who have been awarded state honors should be exempt from certification requirements.
