Erdogan proposes Turkmen gas transit via Azerbaijan

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkmen gas could be transited through Azerbaijan and Turkey, highlighting the importance of energy cooperation between Ankara and Baku.
“Our countries have achieved significant success in the energy sector, and recent geopolitical shifts have underlined the importance of our cooperation,” Erdogan said in a message to the Baku Energy Week, published on the Azerbaijani president’s website.
He cited joint projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, and the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), calling them vital for regional and European energy security.
Erdogan said that a new project for Turkmen gas transit would expand supply routes and contribute to regional prosperity.
