Average monthly wages in Azerbaijan rise 9.4% in first half of 2025

The average nominal monthly wage of hired employees in Azerbaijan reached 1,097 manat in the first half of 2025, up 9.4% compared to the same period last year, the State Statistical Committee said on Tuesday.
As of July 1, the total number of hired employees stood at 1.77 million, with 864,200 working in the public sector and 906,600 in the private sector.
Employment by sector was distributed as follows: trade and vehicle repair accounted for 18.8%, education 18.3%, industry 13.8%, health and social services 8.5%, construction 6.7%, public administration and defence 6.3%, transport and warehousing 4.2%, professional, scientific and technical activities 3.9%, agriculture, forestry and fishing 2.4%, financial and insurance activities 2.3%, and other sectors 14.8%.
Azerbaijan’s gross domestic product (GDP) for the first seven months of 2025 reached 72.43 billion manat, representing a 0.9% increase in real terms from the same period last year. The oil and gas sector shrank by 3.3%, while the non-oil sector expanded by 3.1%.
The GDP structure included industry at 35%, trade and vehicle repair 10.1%, transport and warehousing 7%, agriculture, forestry and fishing 6.3%, construction 6%, accommodation and food services 2.8%, information and communication 1.8%, and other sectors 21.1%. Taxes accounted for 9.9% of GDP.
GDP per capita reached 7,077 manat in 2025.
