Hungary resumes oil imports via Druzhba pipeline after Ukrainian strike

Oil flows to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline have resumed after being halted by a Ukrainian strike earlier this week, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday.

Szijjarto wrote on Facebook that he had thanked Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin by phone for the swift repair of the damage.

“Deliveries of oil to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline were restored in the past few minutes after the Ukrainian attack the night before last,” he said.

The minister added that Hungary expected Ukraine to refrain from further strikes on the pipeline, which he called critical to the country’s energy supply.
