SOCAR to invest $280 mln in Pakistan’s White Oil Pipeline

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR plans to invest $280 million in Pakistan’s White Oil Pipeline, a project linking central Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to haqqin.az, talks with state-owned Pakistan State Oil (PSO) have reached a final stage. If concluded, the agreement would mark one of the largest recent foreign investments in Pakistan’s downstream oil sector.
The 477-km pipeline is designed to transport 7 million tonnes of petroleum products annually, with potential expansion to 10 million tonnes. The project is expected to reduce reliance on costly road transport, ease chronic fuel shortages in the northwest, and improve Pakistan’s energy security.
