Bulgaria to end Russian gas transit deal in 2026, PM says

Bulgaria will terminate its contract on the transit of Russian natural gas in 2026, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said, according to Bulgarian National Radio.
“As part of the European Union, we will join the EU’s decisions to terminate contracts for the use or transit of Russian natural gas in the short term — in 2026,” he said.
The move is part of the EU’s broader strategy to reduce dependence on Russian energy.
