European Commission preparing plan to raise tariffs on Russian oil

The European Commission is drafting a plan to increase import tariffs on Russian oil, Reuters reported.
The proposal will be presented through the usual procedures, though details on tariff levels have not yet been disclosed.
Earlier, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU aims to phase out Russian energy imports entirely by 2027. The new plan is seen as part of efforts to reduce reliance on Russian supplies.
