SOCAR eyes depleted oil and gas wells for carbon storage

 Azerbaijan’s state energy firm SOCAR is considering using depleted oil and gas wells as future carbon storage sites.

Elchin Targuliyev, the company’s renewable energy expert, said this at the Baku Climate Action Week.

He noted the projects remain largely at the research stage.
