EBRD increases operating assets in Azerbaijan in September

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) raised its operating assets in Azerbaijan to €703 million as of Sept. 30, up 0.9% from a month earlier, the bank said.

EBRD’s current loan portfolio stood at €948 million, with 37% allocated to the private sector. Compared with Aug. 31, the portfolio value declined by 0.63% (€6 million). The bank is financing 35 active projects.

Of the portfolio, 89% (€842 million) is directed to sustainable infrastructure, 6% (€56 million) to financial institutions and 5% (€49 million) to the corporate sector.

Since it began operations in Azerbaijan, EBRD has invested €3.66 billion across 200 projects. Last year, it allocated €199 million in loans for eight projects, up 27.6% from 2023.
