Probe into Joomshudlu’s death completed, case sent to court
The investigation into the death of 27-year-old Jumshud Jumshudlu, who fell into a sewage collector after a road collapse in Baku’s Narimanov district, has been completed. The case materials have been submitted to the Narimanov District Court.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gultekin Asadova, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for 27 November.
Azer Jumshudlu, head of the emergency-repair unit of the Baku Su Kanal sewage services, has been charged in the case. He remains under a travel ban pending trial.
After several days of searching, the victim’s body was found in a sewage collector in the settlement of Govsan. He was the family’s only child; his father died several years earlier.
The case was opened under Article 314.2 of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code — negligence resulting in death by carelessness.
