Britain has expanded its sanctions list to include several Russian oil and gas companies, according to official notices. The measures target Tatneft, Russneft, NNK-Oil and Russneftegaz, Kommersant reported.

In total, 24 individuals and entities were added to the list. A notice published on the British government’s website said the sanctions also cover UAE-based Saphira Energy and trading firms Redwood Global Supply and Tejarinaft.

The European Union also expanded its sanctions against Russia on Wednesday, adding 41 more vessels linked to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet”.

In October, the EU adopted its 19th sanctions package, targeting Russian banks, cryptocurrency exchanges and entities in India and China, and tightening restrictions on transactions with Rosneft and Gazprom Neft.
