Recent economic, social and environmental indicators demonstrate that prosperity and development patterns need to be changed and harmonized. Threats such as armed conflicts, aggressive expansionist policies, environmental degradation, human rights violations, financial crises, as well as terror, separatism, transnational organized crime and extremism continue to affect millions of people around the world.
