Emergencies minister visits site of Shamakhi earthquake

Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov familiarised himself with the consequences of the earthquake in Shamakhi, the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
'At the moment, the minister and the district administration are inspecting the site where the earthquake caused damage. The commission began to assess the damage,' said the agency.
Recall, on February 5, at 11:19 pm local time, an earthquake measuring 4.4 points was recorded seven kilometres south of Pirgulu station in the territory of Agsu district. According to the Republican Centre for Seismological Services, the epicentre was at a depth of 10 kilometres.
In the epicentre, the earthquake was felt by a force of five points, in the surrounding areas - up to 4.3 points.
Another 5.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 11:31 pm local time, 10 kilometres south-west of Pirgulu station in the territory of the Ismayilli district. The epicentre was at a depth of eight kilometres.
At the epicentre, the earthquake was felt by a force of six points, in the surrounding areas - up to 5.3 points.
