The new Apple iOS 10 upgrade has single parent families excited for the new update for emojis.
Single parents and their children around the world can now be represented in emoji form, the combinations include a mum or dad with up to two children (boys or girls).
Many people have taken to social media to share their appreciation for being included into the popular communication tool.
A woman wrote: 'I'm so happy to see these emojis because my mother was a single parent and she deserves an emoji.'
Another said: 'I like this single parent emoji bc not everyone's parents are together and apple is acknowledging that.'
One proud and happy woman said: 'I'm honestly really happy about is emoji because my mom is a BAD A** single parent!!!! She's works harder than anyone I know.'
However, many people on social media believe the emoji creators could have done more to be inclusive of other races, religions and sexual orientations with the new upgrade.
One questioned: 'I finally got a single parent emoji why can't we make them black tho?'
A man wrote: 'Sure, they make a single parent emoji, but I don't see an orphan emoji. Won't someone think of the children?!'
While one mum sarcastically said: 'FINALLY came out with single parent emojis now they just need to get a red head emoji and I'll be happy.'
Also included in the update is the male and female surfers, runners and weightlifters, as well as the rainbow flag.
In April 2015 same-sex families were included in the emoji update.
