Energy Minister: No concrete plans for Azerbaijani gas transit via Ukraine
09.08.2024 12:30
Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushenko has revealed that there are currently no concrete proposals for the transit of Azerbaijani natural gas through Ukrainian territory, reported from Ukrainian media.

"There needs to be a concrete document on the table. If there's no specific proposal that can be discussed, I believe it's premature to comment on this. We'll talk about it when potential initiatives transform into practical proposals,” Galushenko emphasized.

The minister highlighted Azerbaijan's keen interest in expanding its gas exports to Europe.

"You can see how Azerbaijan has increased its gas exports to date. I won't disclose specific figures, but Azerbaijan is planning to significantly boost its supplies to Europe. They have substantial resources for this purpose," Galushenko stated.
As for the prospects of extending Russian gas transit through Ukraine, Galushenko noted that his country does not plan to extend the contract with Russia in this direction.
