Environmental protection initiative: “Zero Waste” solidarity marathon started

Kapital Bank continues to actively participate in environmental protection by successfully implementing its corporate social responsibility strategy. In this direction, the Red Hearts Foundation, carrying out the bank’s activities, launched the "Zero Waste” solidarity marathon in Goygol district on the celebration of Kapital Bank’s 150th anniversary.

It should be noted that with the Order of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated December 25, 2023, the year 2024 has been declared the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World.” Additionally, the fact that our country is hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) indicates that environmental protection is a key topic in our country.

Around 50 employees from the branch networks operating in the Ganja-Dashkasan economic region voluntarily participated in the action held in Goygol district. The purpose of the event is to promote cleanliness along coastal areas, beaches, mountain, and forest areas, prevent littering with household waste, involve the public in environmental protection, and encourage everyone to collect their waste.

The president of the Red Hearts Foundation, Yusif Poladov, stated at the event: "The aim of this initiative is to strengthen awareness and advocacy efforts in the field of environmental protection. Marathon participants will pass the baton from one region to another and will participate in various regional clean-up actions within the framework of the nationwide "Clean Our Country” campaign implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.” He also invited other organizations to join such beneficial initiatives for society, carried out in accordance with their social responsibility strategies, to protect the environment.

"Red Hearts” was founded in December 2019 at the initiative of Kapital Bank employees. The organization, which operates as a foundation from 2020, mainly contributes to the formation of a culture of philanthropy in our country. Addressing sensitive and important issues such as environmental protection, ecological balance restoration, education, training, and enlightenment, "Red Hearts” engages in social initiatives.
