Erdogan approves agreement on economic co-op between Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed a decree approving the intergovernmental agreement "On trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan,” reported from Resmi gazete.

In accordance with the document, the three countries agreed to develop long-term cooperation in the following areas: trade in goods and services, energy, agriculture, food and livestock, construction sector, including the production of machinery, equipment and materials, mechanical engineering and vehicle production, chemical and textile industry, transport and logistics, financial sector and investment.

In addition, the agreement provides for the development of long-term cooperation between Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan in the field of medical services and technologies, the pharmaceutical industry, tourism, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, computers, information and communication technologies, the space sector and aerospace industry, as well as postal services.

An agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan on trade and economic cooperation was signed in December 2022 in the city of Turkmenbashi on the sidelines of the first summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye - Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the summit, the presidents discussed issues of further development of the trilateral partnership in the economic sphere. As a result of the negotiations, Ashgabat, Baku and Ankara signed five trilateral documents on cooperation.
