European Union foreign ministers will discuss new restrictions on the radical Palestinian movement Hamas on December 11, particularly regarding finances and the movement of militants, an internal document of the EU diplomatic service says, reported from Euractiv.

According to Euractiv, Hamas is already listed as a terrorist organization in the EU, which means freezing the assets of members of the movement within the community, but the document proposes to take additional measures regarding the "finance and disinformation”.

The document is based on proposals by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell made after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in November. It also states that the EU needs to invite separately Israeli and Palestinian ministers to Foreign Affairs Council meetings in order to maintain dialogue with both sides.

The EU previously imposed sanctions against two representatives of the Hamas military command.
