If you come across a message from Facebook claiming you're in line for a huge Christmas bonus DON'T get too excited.

It seems a hoax post is doing the rounds on the popular social network suggesting Mark Zuckerberg is giving away some of his cash to users.

The fake post claims that Facebook founder Zuckberberg is about to dish out £2.7million to 1,000 users.

All they have to do is copy and paste a message on their timeline, and share it with five to ten friends.

Like many of these messages that circulate on social media it's all a con to attempt to cause chaos on the site with a Facebook spokesperson telling NBC News: "No, it's not real."
