A family of four have been killed in a horrific car crash after the car they were in hit a camel on a Saudi highway.
The car was being driven along a road through the desert in the southwestern region of Jazan when it struck the stray animal.
A father, mother and their two daughters died on the spot, while their three sons suffered serious injuries.
The huge collision took place on Tuesday, according to Red Crescent spokesman Bishi Al-Sarkhi.
Pictures have emerged of the twisted wreckage of the vehicle in the aftermath of the crash as well as the animal lying dead on the road.
Police descended on the scene and cordoned off the area while investigations got underway.
According to Arynews, Arab News reported earlier this year that legal experts have urged authorities to penalise camel owners whose animals cause road crashes.
